Our Mission Statement
We, workers from the nine Baumann, Acme,
Brookset and Alert locations in Long Island, have joined together to form our
union with Teamsters Local 1205. Through the Teamsters, we will have the
power
to make a real, positive difference in our working lives and create a better
future for our families. We need to have a voice at work! We need better wages
and benefits! We need to end
the pay shortages and unfair treatment! We need to
negotiate as equals with the company for the improvements we all deserve!
Together, we are building our union with Teamsters Local 1205 to make this a
better place to work. Join us!

We’re
Negotiating Our Contract At Baumann Bus
After our wonderful victory in favor of Teamster
representation, we’ve gotten to work negotiating a contract with Baumann
management. We’ve had several negotiation sessions, where we have laid out our
priorities to make this a better place to work. Here is an
update from our Teamsters Local 1205 and here are some of our
priorities.

We're thrilled to announce that all our

we voted 906-644 to join Teamsters Local 1205!

Baumann Bus Workers Vote to Join Teamsters Local 1205
As a result of a
major election victory, more than 1,700 school bus workers employed at the
Baumann transportation companies on Long Island will become members of Teamsters
Local 1205, headquartered in Farmingdale, New York. The workers voted 906-644 in
an election conducted by the National Labor Relations Board.

Letter from
Your Coworkers on the Organizing Committee
We recently sent a
letter to our
coworkers at Baumann, Acme, Brookset and Alert about the progress of our
campaign to form a union with Teamsters Local 1205. The support has been
overwhelming!

Teamsters
Fighting Hard On Our Behalf
Our campaign took off with a roaring
start! On Monday, August 17,2009 we hosted a news
conference with the Teamsters, elected officials and
other labor leaders who notified Baumann/Acme Bus Co.
that we were determined to organize!
Before our news
conference, we hand delivered a letter from
Roger Clayman, Executive
Director of the Long Island Federation of Labor, to the yard managers of
each of the nine Baumann Bus/Acme Bus yards. We also delivered the letter to the
company’s headquarters.
In addition,
letters have been sent to the company from
Governor David Paterson and
Long Island Members of Congress.
